“Oh wow, I was just reminded by fb that I have been in post for a year today. It took me by surprise as we are a week away from our AGM. Along with our AGM we will be hosting our first Lung Cancer Europe Conference in Vienna.
I am so excited to welcome over 140 members and special guests to a 3Day event with a host of internationally recognized speakers.
The last year has gone by so quickly and yet we have achieved so much.
Lung Cancer Europe is now a truly European organization as we launched our first multilingual newsletter in March. We are currently upgrading both our website and ATLAS to provide multi language functionality. ln the meantime, we launched our new News Page, where you can be kept up to date on all things lung cancer.
Our Ops Team has grown significantly, following a manic period of interviewing for a host of new roles. Everyone has settled in so well, they are like one of the furniture already.
As well as all that we have launched two Lung Cancer Europe Reports on Mental Health which were successfully launch at ESMO and ELCC respectively.
We decided to have a stand/booth at the European Radiology Conference this year and we will be returning next year after a very successful event.
This isn’t everything the team has achieved/delivered. When I stop and reflect, I am incredibly proud of both the OPs team and the Board. It hasn’t all been plain sailing and I’m sure my next year will come with a new set of challenges, however when I think of all we are doing to support our members and represent the voices of all patients & families with lung cancer it’s definitely worth it. There is a saying, time flies when you are having fun. Well, given how quickly this last 12mths has gone, I must have had a ball. Let’s see what the next year has install for me.”
