Dean Crowe on a Landmark Win for Pediatric Cancer Research and Access

Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The President just signed and today is a great day for childhood cancer advocates. Your voices mattered, and they were heard.

Earlier today, the House passed the funding package, and later President Trump signed it into law. It felt especially fortuitous that the moment it passed the House, Emma Strong and I were on a call with Congressman Michael McCaul’s office. One of those full-circle advocacy moments you don’t forget.

Today is a huge win for the childhood cancer community. We are proud to share that the president has approved a historic funding package that advances pediatric cancer research, improves care and expands access to treatment across the United States.

This legislation includes the Mikaela Naylon give kids a chance act, the Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act, continued support for the STAR Act, increased funding from $130 million to $165 million for the Department of Defense Congressionally Directed Cancer Research Program and funding for the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative.

This moment is the result of years of advocacy, families bravely sharing their stories, researchers pushing forward and supporters refusing to give up. It means more research, better access to care and real hope for kids and families nationwide. It means hope.

Today, we celebrate.
Tomorrow, we Rally On.”
