Dean Crowe, Founder and CEO of the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I don’t know about you, but the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas feel completely non-stop. Mostly good and important things – but still… non-stop.
This photo with Ed Bastian makes me laugh because it captures how I sometimes feel: smiling up from the bottom of a big pile – meetings, calls, emails, deadlines, coffees, parties. It’s a lot.
So this is a reminder – for you and for me – to pause and breathe.
It’s okay to say, “I need a minute.”
It’s okay to step off autopilot and reset.
I love what I do. I love the families we serve, my team, the researchers, our board, the advocacy, and the chance to think big and do meaningful work. And I really love my husband and family.
But none of it is served well if we forget to breathe.
Here’s to giving ourselves a little margin and grace in a very full season. My guess is that if we do, both we—and the people we love – will thank us.”
