David Skorton Shared a Study on Mortality Disparities Among Women Physicians
David Skorton, President and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), shared a post on LinkedIn:
”A Harvard Medical School study reveals a troubling paradox: While women generally outlive men by about 5 years, women physicians face higher mortality than their male peers, with Black women physicians experiencing the highest mortality rate among doctors.
Work and societal factors like pay gaps, harassment, burnout, and disproportionate caregiving responsibilities may play a role. In a new article, The AAMC covers these issues and how we can better protect the well-being of our entire workforce.”
