The Official Opening of Our New Centre of Excellence – Danish Cancer Institute
Danish Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday we celebrated the official opening of our new Centre of Excellence, the Centre for Epigenetic Cell Memory (EpiC) located at the Danish Cancer Institute.
EpiC will explore one of biology’s big questions – how cells remember who they are. By exploring how epigenetic memory is passed on, yet remains adaptable, the team hopes to shed new light on cancer development and ageing. It’s ambitious science with enormous potential.
Research Director Mads Melbye thanked Danmarks Grundforskningsfond / The Danish National Research Foundation for making it all possible:
‘Thank you for daring prioritising the fundament of research, basic science. Your grant brings royalty to our institute.’
He also reminded us that scientific breakthroughs often come from the most surprising places:
‘We don’t know from where the next great breakthrough is coming.’
Huge congratulations to head of EpiC, Professor Anja Groth, Professor Niels Mailand, Professor Jakob Nilsson and Associate Professor Nils Krietenstein – and the entire EpiC team. We can’t wait to see what’s next.”
