Daniel Stover: New Insights into Resistance in Breast Cancer from Nature Study

Daniel Stover, Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of Translational Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In breast cancer,
-We have focused on germline alterations/variation and predicted risk of developing breast cancer as well as therapeutic response.
-We have also focused on somatic tumor genomic alterations and how these can match patients to specific therapies.

We have not focused enough on the interplay of germline-somatic features. I love that the field is addressing that gap!

Fantastic work from Pedram Razavi Sarat Chandarlapaty and team out in Nature Magazine.”

Title: Homologous recombination deficiency and hemizygosity drive resistance in breast cancer
