“On World AIDS Day, we remember those who lost their lives to HIV and the power of community to drive change. We gathered at the National AIDS Memorial Grove in San Francisco today and reinforced our commitment to ending HIV. When I think about the city’s progress fighting HIV over the last four decades and the challenges that remain, I’m reminded that the first steps and the last steps of a journey are almost always the hardest.
The first steps in combatting the HIV epidemic demanded bravery in the face of fear, stigma, and devastating loss. The last steps, the ones we are taking now to Get to Zero infections, demand the same level of resolve. At Gilead Sciences, we are committed to bringing our innovation, our resources, and our decades of expertise to helping to end HIV, in San Francisco and around the world.”
