Daniel Moreira: New Benchmarking Tool Advances Pediatric Neuro-Oncology

Daniel Moreira, Faculty at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared Sergio Licona’s, Program Manager Global Neuro-Oncology St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, post on LinkedIn, adding:

“A valuable mechanism for benchmarking in pediatric neuro-oncology!

Amazing work by Sergio, Ahmer, and Liz leading this project!”

Quoting Sergio Licona’s post:

Children with CNS tumors need highly specialized, multidisciplinary care, but until now there hasn’t been a broadly agreed framework to measure the quality of that care across different settings.

Through collaboration with experts from 15 countries, we developed a consensus-based set of 31 quality indicators that can help benchmark care, identify gaps, and guide improvement efforts in pediatric neuro-oncology.

There’s still work ahead to validate and implement these indicators, but this provides an important foundation.”
