“Today marks the European Women Cancer Assembly in Brussels – the first pan-European, pan-tumour gathering built specifically around a gender and sex lens in cancer care.
As someone who has spent years working on breast cancer policy across Dutch and EU institutions, I’m struck by how rare this framing still is: cancer policy that treats sex and gender as structural variables, not footnotes.
3 days of patients, clinicians, policymakers and researchers in the same room, working toward a shared declaration. I’ll be listening, asking hard questions, and contributing where my background can add something concrete.
