Cristian Massacesi, Executive Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Development at Bristol Myers Squibb, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In my first 100 days at Bristol Myers Squibb, I’ve made it a priority to visit as many of our Drug Development sites as possible to meet our people where they are and better understand the work they’re driving for patients. I spent much of last week at our site in Hyderabad, India — a city which has become a vibrant hub of scientific talent and innovation.
India’s healthcare landscape is evolving, with growing support for R&D — underscored by the fact that there are large patient populations who are waiting for new or better options. The country’s clinical research ecosystem presents a powerful opportunity to accelerate innovation and expand access for patients, locally and globally.
The visit was filled with moments that highlighted the important work happening here, including the inaugural Hyderabad Science and Innovation Week, which provided an opportunity for our employees to showcase their contributions to advancing our pipeline. I was likewise inspired by the chance to meet with clinical investigators and tour two of our study sites – Yashoda Hospital and Asha Hospital – gaining firsthand insights into the impact of our clinical trials.
Thank you to Nataraj Kalyanaraman, Nilesh Patel and everyone else who made this a memorable trip.”
