Rethinking Radiotherapy Through Shorter Treatment Schedules – City Cancer Challenge

City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) shared on LinkedIn:

Cancer research shouldn’t end with demonstrating that a treatment works: it must show for whom it works, under what circumstances, at what cost, and how to make quality care achievable in everyday practice.

In Tbilisi, Georgia, Mariam Tchiabrishvili is investigating whether a 1-week ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy schedule (5 sessions instead of 3 weeks) can deliver high-quality care while reducing financial, travel, and time burdens for early breast cancer patients.

Through C/Can’s support, Dr Tchiabrishvili attended the International Collaboration for Research Methods Development in Oncology (CReDO) workshop. Designed to help researchers turn initial clinical questions into structured, rigorous protocols, CReDO provided the research methodology, protocol writing, and implementation frameworks needed to take her project from concept to action.
