“On World Cancer Research Day, at the World Cancer Congress 2026 in Hong Kong, we presented our new Guide on How to Establish Knowledge Hubs to Support Evidence-Informed Cancer Care in LMICs.
Knowledge Hubs are locally anchored platforms where health professionals, institutions, policymakers and communities come together to generate, adapt and apply evidence in response to local needs.
The guide takes readers through nine stages, from defining a Hub’s purpose and mapping partners to evaluating results and planning for long-term sustainability.
It builds on a systematic review developed by technical leadership of C/Can and the technical partnership with the University of Melbourne’s Evaluation and Implementation Science Unit, and on consultations with stakeholders from C/Can cities across regions.
Where you live and who you are shouldn’t determine the quality of care you receive.
Knowledge Hubs help cities build the local capacity to make that a reality, with ownership staying in local hands.
