Quoting Debolina Dasgupta’s post:
“I am delighted to share that yesterday I successfully defended my doctoral thesis and was awarded Ph.D. with honors.
This dream come true moment would not have been possible without the incredible support, guidance, and encouragement from my wonderful mentor Dr. Kalyani Pyaram. Under her mentorship I was able to be a recipient of several awards including travel awards and a complimentary award from PacBio. I could also author nine research and review articles including two co-first author, one first author, and two first author manuscripts currently under review.
I would also extend my deepest gratitude to all the current and past members of Pyaram Lab. I am deeply thankful to my awesome colleague and dear friend Dr. Aprajita Tripathi for her constant help and support during this journey. Big thanks to our postdoc Dr. Nadine Santana Magal. PhD, and our newest members Mehak Ahuja and Alfred Effah for their help and encouragement.
A big thanks to all the labs at KU Medical Center Cancer Biology, mainly my committee members Dr. Stefan Bossmann, Dr. Jennifer Davis, Dr. Shahid Umar and Dr. Hubert Tse for their excellent feedbacks, scientific discussions, guidance, encouragement, and career advice, all of which shaped me to be a better scientist.
I am incredibly grateful to be blessed with my amazing parents and friends who have unconditionally supported me throughout my life. I would also love to thank my wonderful partner Dr. Xiufeng Zhang for his unwavering love and support thoughout my PhD journey.
The next exciting chapter of my life starts in October 2026 at Atlanta where I shall be joining the lab of Dr. Chrystal Paulos at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. I am deeply thankful to her for selecting me to be a part of her awesome lab and am looking forward to working alongside the amazing team.
Lastly, I would love to thank everyone who attended my defense online as well as all the healthy donors and IBD patients who donated/participated in my study.”
