Christopher Jackson, Co-lead of the Cancer National Clinical Network at Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, shared on LinkedIn:
“The UICC Board elections are coming up, and this year there will be significant change.
There are 14 Board positions, and only six current directors are standing for re-election. That means at least half of the next Board will be new. That is a great opportunity. New members bring new ideas, experience and perspectives. But at a time of change, continuity matters too.
I’m proud to be standing for re-election alongside Matti Aapro, Stella Bialous, Maira Caleffi, Todd Harper and Kathleen Schmeler.
Over the past two years, we’ve worked together as a Board, sometimes agreeing, sometimes challenging each other, but always with a shared commitment to UICC and the global cancer community.
For me, that diversity of thought is exactly what good governance should look like: bringing different perspectives to the table, debating them respectfully, and ultimately working together for something bigger than any one of us. I’d be honoured to serve another term and to help connect what UICC has built with the opportunities ahead.
Most importantly, if your organisation is a UICC member: please vote. UICC is a member-led organisation, and its strength depends on members choosing the representation they want.”
