Christopher Jackson, Co-lead of the Cancer National Clinical Network at Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, and Professor of Oncology at the University of Otago, shared New Zealand Society for Oncology’s post on Facebook:
“A huge privilege to be invited to speak at ASCO26 as part of the common sense oncology movement. I was presenting on the gap between discovery and access, and the many barriers people face to receiving care. Importantly, we talked solutions.
This theme was also underlined by ASCO president Eric Small who said a treatment that can’t be accessed is an unrealised hope and unfulfilled promise.
At ASCO we hear of all of the most breathtaking advances in cancer research.
But if innovation is the heart of oncology, then access must be its conscience.”
Quoting New Zealand Society for Oncology’s post:
“Exciting to see NZSO on the world stage, Christopher Jackson representing our small but mighty country at ASCO 2026!”
