Christoph Heuck, Global Medical Head at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson and Johnson, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“While Die Mannschaft may have had a rather pedestrian showing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, another German team has been putting points on the board where it truly matters: for patients with multiple myeloma.
The German Myeloma Groups GMMG and DSMM continue to show what focused, collaborative clinical research can achieve. In their newly published Nature Medicine manuscript on the GMMG-HD10/DSMM-XX (MajesTEC-5) trial, the investigators report encouraging early results from a teclistamab-based induction regimen for transplant-eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.
The study included 49 transplant-eligible patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma treated with induction teclistamab plus daratumumab, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone. After six cycles, the regimen delivered deep responses: 100% of patients achieved at least a very good partial response, 69% achieved complete response or better, and 100% of the MRD evaluable patients were MRD negative at after induction cycle 3 or 6 . These results add important momentum to the growing evidence base for bringing immunotherapy-containing combinations earlier in the treatment journey.
Congratulations to Marc Raab and Leo Rasche and their teams, the GMMG and DSMM investigators, and all participating centers, on this important achievement and on their continued progress for patients living with multiple myeloma.”
