Christine Lovly: Future of Lung Cancer at the EGFR Resisters Summit

Christine Lovly, Division Chief of the Thoracic Medical Oncology at City of Hope, shared on LinkedIn:

“The EGFR Resisters summit was an incredible experience this weekend, bringing together patients, caregivers, advocates, sponsors, family, friends.

While the field of EGFR-mutant lung cancer has advanced greatly, especially in the past few years, there is still much work to do. We collectively need more research, spanning the fundamentals of EGFR structure and signaling, more preclinical models, more potent and more specific therapies that provide increasingly durable benefit for patients (~24mo mPFS for current combos, osi/chemo or ami/laz, is not long enough), screening to identify patients with EGFRmut lung cancer, and improved access to cutting edge clinical trials.

While the summit was remarkable, it also made me think about former patients and friends who were no longer with us – one of them being the amazing Ivy Elkins, one of the co-founders of the EGFR Resisters. She is in our hearts.”Christine Lovly: Future of Lung Cancer at the EGFR Resisters Summit
