Christine Lovly: Excited To Be Recognized Among Women Of Influence In Health Care In LA

Christine Lovly, Associate Professor of medicine with tenure at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, reshared a post on LinkedIn:

Moving to LA this year has been an incredibly meaningful transition, both professionally and personally. After 20 years in a home I loved in Nashville, starting fresh was daunting. But I have been met with support, enthusiasm, and shared excitement around what can be built together. So grateful.

As a woman physician and scientist in oncology, I think a lot about how we can show up for each other, how teams are built + elevated, how priorities are set, and, most importantly, how we can get better options to patients with Lung cancer. This is absolutely teamwork, and I so appreciate the opportunities at City of Hope, where our network runs ~700 clinical trials/year to help deliver on the promise of novel, potentially life-altering treatments.

Curing cancer is not a singular act that can be accomplished by any one center. It is amazing to be part of the broader cancer community across LA and CA and throughout the world that shares a sense of urgency and commitment.

Being recognized in the Los Angeles Business Journal Women of Influence: Health Care 2026 reflects this community and collective effort. I am excited and blessed to be a small part of such a large, dynamic, diverse, and forward-moving healthcare community in LA and beyond, and grateful to be part of this incredible group of influential women, that also includes my City of Hope colleagues Angelique Richard and Debbie Thurmond!”
