Christian Blank, Head of Melanoma and Sarcoma Division at European Institute of Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Another argument for personalised neoadjuvant immunotherapy!
Congrats Yago Garitaonaindia, Sonja Witteveen, Marco Donia, and teams with this important work showing that patients achieving a pCR after neoadjuvant immunotherapy seemingly do not benefit further form continuing with an adjuvant part (perioperative schemes).
These are important findings in the light that we know from the neoadjuvant NIVO-RELA trials that toxicity increases dramatically if with the same scheme is continued after the surgery.
The relevance of ctDNA seems to be less and needs to be evaluated further.”
