“Road to Boston.
Lessons Learned One Mile at a Time / Week 8
I haven’t trained at all this week.
No excuse.
It’s just been a week.
Work. Life. Other priorities.
And this week, the early-morning miles just didn’t happen.
This is my 19th year doing this, and I’ve learned something along the way.
There have been years I trained a lot.
Years I probably didn’t train enough.
And somehow, when walk day comes, I still get out there and pound the pavement.
Not because every week goes according to plan.
Not because I’m always motivated.
Because at some point, I made the choice.
The choice to keep showing up.
The choice to keep walking.
The choice to do it again this year.
Maybe that’s the lesson this week.
Some weeks are about the miles.
Some weeks are about remembering why you’ll still show up when they matter.
Eight weeks to Boston. Proud to keep walking for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”
