Chris McKee: MD Anderson Hosts Regional Training on Breast Imaging for Latin American Colleagues
Chris McKee, Senior Vice President, Chief Strategy & Business Development Officer at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“This week, we had the privilege of welcoming forty colleagues from thirteen countries across Latin America to MD Anderson The Woodlands for a Regional Training Course on Breast Imaging, organized in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), and City Cancer Challenge (C/Can).
Breast cancer remains the most diagnosed cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer death among women. Advancing early detection and diagnosis is essential to improving outcomes and survival. Through this course, participants engaged in hands-on sessions and case-based learning on mammography, ultrasound, advanced imaging applications, and image guided interventions.
We are grateful to the dedicated teams who worked closely to make this training possible: Dr. Miriam Mikhail Lette and IAEA colleagues, Dr. Mauricio Maza and PAHO/WHO colleagues, Dr. Alfredo Polo from C/Can, our MD Anderson The Woodlands team, led by Dr. Pamela Schlembach and Jacque Andrepont and Dr. Sarah Martaindale along with many experts, radiologists, and facilitators who dedicated their time and expertise.
Congratulations and a special thank you to Dr. Toma Omofoye, who served as course director, Dr. Kathleen Schmeler and Sarah Petrie Berger for their Global Oncology leadership, Dr. Ana Refinetti from Breast Surgical Oncology and to Dr. Shubhra Ghosh, Reina Guerrero, Lydia Davis, Jessica Milan, Zohra Kantawala, Sharmeen Virani, Monica de la Cerda, and our entire Global Oncology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Opportunities like these are essential to advancing our mission to reduce the burden of cancer. Seeing the collaboration, energy, and commitment reaffirms the power of working together to bring hope and progress to cancer patients. Thank you to all who joined us and to all who continue this important work every day to End Cancer.”
Kathleen Schmeler, Associate Vice President of Global Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared Chris McKee’s on LinkedIn:
