“Every year, before the start of Global Patient Week at Bristol Myers Squibb, I receive a briefing book with details on the events and experiences planned around the world. It also contains biographies of all the patients participating throughout the week.
I read each of them.
Because there’s something about knowing a name and seeing the face behind a patient’s story – learning about the moments that transformed their lives – that turns purpose from something we say into something we feel.
Global Patient Week is dedicated to celebrating patients and the moments our science has made possible for them.
Their stories of resilience and determination remind us what we’re here to do, and why we must keep going.
Some of these stories we’ll hear firsthand throughout the week in our global BMS offices.
There are many more we never will – but they’re out there, and they’re real, and they are the reason our work matters.
This week we honor those patients.
The other 51 weeks, we fight for them.”
