Childhood Cancer International Welcomes Alejandra Mendez as the New President of CCI’s Board of Trustees

Childhood Cancer International – CCI shared a post on LinkedIn:

“A New Chapter of Leadership at Childhood Cancer International!

We are proud to welcome Alejandra Mendez from Chile as the new President of CCI’s Board of Trustees!

A mother of a childhood cancer survivor, a passionate advocate for patient rights, and an internationally recognised voice for people with lived experience (PWLE), Alejandra brings a unique combination of personal experience, strategic leadership and a longstanding commitment to transforming childhood cancer care.

From advocating for patient-centred public policies in Chile to representing children, survivors and families at the World Health Organization, the United Nations and other global forums, Alejandra has worked tirelessly to ensure that the voices of those directly affected by childhood cancer help shape policies, research and healthcare systems.

Having previously served as Vice President of CCI’s Board of Trustees, she now steps into this leadership role with a clear vision: to strengthen our global community, advance equity in childhood cancer care, and ensure that every child, everywhere, has the opportunity not only to survive, but to thrive.

Her guiding belief reminds us why our mission matters: Behind every statistic is a child with a name, a family, and dreams for the future.

Please join us in congratulating Alejandra and welcoming this exciting new chapter for CCI!”
