International Childhood Cancer Day 2026: Turning Attention Into Action – World Child Cancer

World Child Cancer shared a post on LinkedIn:

“On 15 February, the world will turn its attention to International Childhood Cancer Day

Each year, an estimated 400,000 children and adolescents (0–19) are diagnosed with cancer worldwide.* Yet a child’s chance of survival continues to depend largely on where they are born.

In high-income countries, more than 80% of children with cancer are cured. In low- and middle-income countries, fewer than 30% survive, often due to limited access to early diagnosis, treatment, and essential medicines. Only 29% of low-income countries report that cancer medicines are generally available, compared to 96% of high-income countries.*

As International Childhood Cancer Day approaches, we’re shining a light on people-centred, holistic care – care that supports children’s emotional, social, and physical wellbeing alongside treatment.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll be sharing stories from across our work that show how this care comes to life, made possible by partners, health workers, families, and supporters like you.

Stay tuned – we look forward to sharing these stories with you.”
