Here is the 2nd key insight into the study ‘Childhood cancer patients’ perspective on exercising with cancer’ by Dennis Wilke et al., highlighting the impact of exercise therapy during cancer treatment:
Exercise sessions offered a welcome break from doctor visits, blood tests and medication. For a moment, children and young adults felt like more than ‘just’ patients – they felt like themselves again.
Our conclusion?
A tailored exercise program supports not only physical fitness but also mental well-being and daily functioning, benefiting children living with cancer, their families and the entire care team.
