Chiara Dauccia: Meta-Analysis of More Than 2 Million Women on the Association Between Obesity and Breast Cancer Risk

Chiara Dauccia, Medical Research Fellow at Institut Jules Bordet, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Obesity is a well-established risk factor for breast cancer, yet this association reflects a complex interplay of biological factors.

In our large meta-analysis including more than 2 million women, we explored how BMI and breast cancer risk vary according to tumor subtype and menopausal status.”

Elisa Agostinetto, Breast Oncologist at Institute Jules Bordet, shared Chiara Dauccia’s post, adding:

“Prevention is the most cost-effective long term strategy for the control of cancer.

Obesity is a known risk factor for breast cancer, yet a complex interplay of factors exists and risk is different according to breast cancer subtype and menopausal status.

Congrats to our brilliant fellow Chiara Dauccia who led this meta-analysis addressing this complex and relevant topic!”
