Chadi Nabhan, hematologist and medical oncologist, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Strategy at Ryght, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I had the opportunity to discuss SCOTUS’ recent 7-2 decision involving Monsanto and Roundup on CNN this weekend.
From a physician’s perspective, this case extends well beyond the courtroom. It illustrates the complexity of determining medical causation, the evolving nature of scientific evidence, and the challenges of translating that evidence into decisions with far-reaching public health implications.
I explored many of these scientific and medical issues in my book, Toxic Exposure: The True Story Behind the Monsanto Trials and the Search for Justice, available everywhere. The book chronicles the science, medicine, and history behind one of the most closely watched product liability cases of our time.
Regardless of one’s perspective on the decision, I believe the conversation surrounding science, evidence, and patient health remains as important as ever.
