Chad Han, Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Flinders University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper published on Journal of Geriatric Oncology:

Geriatric assessment in older adults with cancer: A global scoping review of barriers and strategies to implementation
Integrating geriatric assessment (GA) into oncology care is more critical than ever. Our latest scoping review synthesises a decade of international evidence to identify 27 barriers and 17 strategies for implementing GA in older adults with cancer.
Key insights:
- Barriers span five domains: service governance, workforce, professional dynamics, patient-related factors, and clinical utility.
- Strategies include telemedicine, multidisciplinary collaboration, policy advocacy, and nurse-led models.
We also drafted a tool template to support tailored GA implementation across diverse settings. Please keep a look out for the invite to our DELPHI study to develop this tool!
Credits and grateful to mentors and fellow authors.”
Raymond Chan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research at Flinders University, shared Chad Han’s post, adding:
“Great work by Dr Chad Han and our international team! Check our the fishbone analysis and the implementation tool developed by the team!”
