Cesar Perez: Why Multidisciplinary Care Matters in Head and Neck Cancer

Cesar Perez, Director of Drug Development at Lake Nona DDU of Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, shared on LinkedIn:

“Head and neck cancer often requires complex, multidisciplinary care. Effective treatment depends on collaboration across surgery, medical oncology, radiation, speech therapy, and clinical research, with teams aligned around a shared treatment plan.

This World Cancer Day is an opportunity to highlight why delivering that level of multidisciplinary expertise within the community matters. When care teams are connected, patients can access comprehensive, research-informed care without unnecessary or added barriers. That coordination supports patients facing complex head and neck cancers and why I’m proud to be a part of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute and Sarah Cannon Research Institute.”
