“I am honoured to participate as a Panellist in Plenary 1 of the World Cancer Congress 2026, under the theme:

‘Where are we now? The global state of cancer control’

This high-level plenary will bring together leading voices from different regions to reflect on progress, challenges and the future of cancer control, with a strong focus on translating national strategies into population-level impact.

The session will be moderated by Jeff Dunn, Chief of Mission and Head of Research, Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

The distinguished panel will include:

  • Cary Adams – CEO, Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)
  • Jie He – Director, National Cancer Center, China
  • Chung-mau Lo – Secretary for Health, Hong Kong SAR
  • Jacinta Reddan – CEO, Cancer Council Australia
  • Cesaltina Ferreira Lorenzoni – President, African Organisation for Research and Training in Cancer (AORTIC) and Ministry of Health-Mozambique

I am particularly honoured to bring the African and Mozambican perspective to this important global conversation, highlighting the realities, achievements and priorities of cancer control in Africa.

Looking forward to contributing to this important global dialogue at the World Cancer Congress 2026.”
