Taking Cervical Cancer Screening Beyond the Clinic – NCI of Kenya

National Cancer Institute of Kenya shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Our ongoing free cervical cancer screening initiative goes beyond screening services to include comprehensive public education and awareness. Community members are being engaged on key information about cancer – including facts, risk factors, prevention methods, and the dispelling of common myths and misconceptions.

Nurses from the Ministry of Health, Kenya, are leading these education sessions, ensuring that accurate, reliable, and easy-to-understand information reaches the public. Through this approach, we are maximizing the impact of the outreach so that communities not only access services but also gain knowledge that empowers them to make informed health decisions.

Awareness remains a critical pillar in the fight against cancer, as informed individuals are more likely to seek early screening and preventive services. Education also builds confidence among both women and men, encouraging them to come forward for screening without fear or stigma.”
