Celia Diez de los Rios, Lecturer at the University of Navarra, Spain, Board Member at From Testing to Targeted Treatments (FT3), Oncology Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Research Fellow at the University of Glasgow, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Less Survivable Cancers Awareness Week.
This week reminds us of cancers where survival remains painfully limited: lung, pancreatic, liver, brain, oesophageal and stomach.
On a year and a half I have lost 4 people to these cancers that are often diagnosed late.
That if they are in good status to get treatment they have fewer options.
Where a lot of the conversations are around ‘how long’.
Through The Good Day Project, I’ve been privileged to listen to people living with these diagnoses. and listening about how they want to live today.
Of course they think of the future but they live the today.
This week I continue to listen to the interviews and listen how a good day might be enjoying a walk on a sunny day.
This is not only about surviving but living.
Still we don’t ask people what is important for them. We can know use that knowledge to guide care, research, and decision-making.
Proud to be working with Grigorios Kotronoulas in this beautiful project.”
