Childhood Cancer International – Europe (CCI Europe) shared on LinkedIn:
“Save the date for the Gold September policy event!
On 2 September 2026 (15:00–16:30 CET), an official exchange of views on paediatric cancer will take place at the European Parliament’s Committee on Public Health (SANT).
For the first time, the patient perspective on childhood cancer will be heard in this setting, with CCI Europe bringing the perspectives of children, adolescents, survivors and families into the European health policy debate.
The session will bring together four different perspectives: Léonor Lhoist, childhood cancer survivor, Sam Daems, economist, investor and bereaved father, Professor Gilles Vassal from SIOP Europe, the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE) Board Member, and Delphine Heenen from CCI Europe. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, will deliver a special address at the beginning of the session.
The discussion will focus on unmet medical needs, innovative treatments, specialised care and cross-border access to clinical trials.
