Catríona M. Dowling: Launch of Patient-Centered Lung Cancer Booklet ‘Navigating Lung Cancer’

Catríona M. Dowling, Lecturer and Principal Investigator at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Huge congratulations to my PhD student, Saoirse Flanagan, on her tremendous work in creating the new lung cancer patient booklet, ‘Navigating Lung Cancer’.

We had a wonderful day yesterday at Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre, showcasing the booklet and taking our PPI members on a tour of my lab as part of LCAM. It was inspiring to see the engagement, questions, and enthusiasm from everyone involved — a reminder of why co-creation with patients and the community is so powerful.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our PPI contributors and to the Irish Lung Cancer Community (ILCC) for sharing your lived experience, wisdom, and support. Your voices shaped this booklet into something genuinely meaningful.

We are also deeply grateful to the All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI) for supporting this important work.

Navigating Lung Cancer is an invaluable resource for patients and families, and a testament to what can be achieved when researchers, patients, and communities come together. Well done, Saoirse and Abhishek Tomar — your commitment to improving patient experience shines through every page.”
