Catherine Alix-Panabières: Liquid Biopsy – The Rise of a Medical Revolution

Catherine Alix-Panabières, Director of the Laboratory of Rare Human Circulating Cells and Professor of Universities – Hospital Practitioner at Montpellier University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

Day 2 of the 7th Annual Global Cancer Consortium Conference: Advances in Metastasis Research at The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota, in Austin, Minnesota.

I was honored to deliver the invited keynote lecture, “Liquid Biopsy: The Rise of a Medical Revolution,” during the inspiring session Technologies Driving Discovery and Early Detection.

While the scientific discussions were exceptional, the most meaningful moments came from being reminded why we dedicate ourselves to cancer research: the patients.

Hearing the personal story and perspectives of Jacquelyn Vranicar brought a powerful human dimension to the conference, reinforcing the importance of translating scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for those living with cancer. These voices remind us that every breakthrough, every experiment, and every collaboration ultimately serves a greater purpose.

Beyond the outstanding science, collaboration, and exchange of ideas, there was also some fun along the way – I was fortunate to win a sponsor prize alongside two other participants!

What made this conference even more special was the way it concluded. We joined the local festival in Austin, sharing simple moments together outside the conference setting. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect on a more personal level, celebrate new friendships and collaborations, and be reminded that behind every scientific achievement are people united by a common goal and a shared passion.

A fantastic final day filled with science, innovation, collaboration, inspiration, emotion, and hope.

A special thank you to Eric Rahrmann for moderating such a wonderful session and to all organizers, speakers, and attendees for making this event so memorable.”
