Cassandra Griffin, Biobanking and Clinical Research Manager at University of Newcastle, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Absolutely thrilled to share this publication! Our team have published a number of papers detailing the experiences of caring for someone with brain cancer who has consented to post-mortem brain donation, but in this work we were honored to give a voice to the patients themselves.
In sharing the perspectives of consented donors we were humbled and in awe of the impact these biobanking programs have – not just scientifically, but personally. Working with these individuals is an absolute privilege and there is so much more work to be done in this space delivering patient-driven research protocols.
Special thanks to Prof Christine Paul, A/Prof James Lynam and the late Prof Marjorie Walker. To all the inspiring individuals who donated to the biobank and so generously shared their experiences with us – your donation and your legacy fights on.”
