Carolyn Ee, Associate Editor at Australian Journal of Primary Health, shared a post on LinkedIn by South Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN), adding:
“I am thrilled to have this opportunity to be the inaugural Co-Chair, together with the amazing Holly Huggins, on this new sub-committee established by South Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN). Together with our collaborative network of people with lived experience, clinicians, researchers and community organisations, we hope (pun intended) to strengthen collaboration and coordination across the health system to enable South Australians to live well with and beyond cancer.
On Monday 29th June the HOPE subcommittee will hear from Larissa Nekhlyudov as guest speaker. Larissa’s extensive expertise and experience with cancer survivorship, particularly in primary care, will set the scene for our priority setting activities across the key areas of survivorship, supportive care and patient navigation.”
Quoting South Australian Comprehensive Cancer Network (SACCaN)‘s post:
“Navigating cancer care can be complex. That’s why strengthening connected cancer care is a key focus in South Australia.
Through SACCaN, the HOPE (Holistic Care and Optimising Patient Experience) sub-committee with support a more coordinated and person-centred cancer system. Co-chaired by A/Prof Carolyn Ee from Flinders University and Holly Huggins, consumer co-lead, HOPE reflects a strong partnership between clinical leadership and lived experience.
This work focuses on amplifying what already exists across the system by improving visibility of services and strengthening collaboration, so people can more easily find and access the cancer care and support they need.
