Carmen Uscatu, Founding Member and President of Give Life, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Why are we here today? And everyday?
It’s a question I ask myself every time I have hard time.
This December has been a time for strategic planning, and yesterday was no exception. Together with the team from Marie Curie Children’s Hospital Bucharest and Prinses Máxima Centrum voor kinderoncologie Utrecht, we talked about a multi-annual plan for 2026–2028, built on four key pillars:
Care: Advancing complex treatment, cross-border collaboration, diagnostics, and supportive care so every child receives the best treatment close to home.
Education: Building expertise among medical professionals through training, fellowships, and knowledge exchange because expertise saves lives.
Data: Creating a patient registry to enable data-driven decisions.
Research: Joining international protocols, leading clinical studies, and integrating psychology, social care, palliative care, and pain management into treatment.
At Dăruiește Viață, our vision of a multidisciplinary hospital goes beyond bricks and mortar. Together, we have the heart and the tools to transform pediatric oncology in Romania through partnership, research, training, and determination.
Always, together.”
