Carmen Monge-Montero, Researcher and Global Cancer Advocate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In 2 weeks, I will be attending American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting for the first time thanks to the Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation Patient Advocate Award.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn, share perspectives, and connect with people across the global oncology community
I’m especially interested in conversations around:
- AYA cancer care and life after cancer
- treatment accessibility and global cancer inequalities
- collaboration and knowledge-sharing across the Global South (I have Latin-American region and African experience)
- Patient-centered research and young advocacy. Bring global voices to the conversation with MANO, Inspire2Live and Youth Cancer Europe
- Equity, diversity and inclusion in cancer care and research
Also very interested in discussions around the Right to Be Forgotten and policies that protect the rights of people with lived experience.
Looking forward to connecting with researchers, clinicians, advocates, and others working to make cancer care more equitable and accessible.
If you’ll be at ASCO, I’d love to connect. Send me a message and let’s plan a coffee.
Pura vida!”
