Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo: This is More Than Research. This is Hope in Action

Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo, EVP and Chair, Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Today, on International Childhood Cancer Day, we pause to remember why our work matters.

No child should die in the dawn of life. Anywhere.

I recently had the privilege of joining a powerful webinar featuring Dr. Dylan Graetz and Dr. Erica Kaye from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as they shared their groundbreaking qualitative research recently published in The Lancet journals.

Their work reminds us that behind every data point is a child, a family, a story that needs to be told and deserves to be heard. Qualitative research in pediatric oncology doesn’t just inform our science; it transforms how we approach care, how we understand the lived experiences of children and families facing cancer, and ultimately, how we work toward our shared mission: finding cures and saving children.

The team at St. Jude Global, working with partners around the world,  is leading the way, proving that when we combine scientific rigor with deep human understanding, we move closer to a world where every child, regardless of where they’re born, has the chance to grow, thrive, and live.

This is more than research. This is hope in action.

Let’s continue pushing forward, together. Every conversation, every study, every collaboration brings us one step closer to ensuring no child dies in the dawn of life.”
