Across many low- and middle-income countries, patients can be lost between diagnosis, referral, treatment and follow-up. AI could help identify those at risk earlier, but technology alone cannot keep people connected to care.
AI-supported patient navigation could help overstretched teams flag missed appointments, delayed investigations and patients at risk of dropping out of care-while human navigators provide the judgement, empathy and continuity no algorithm can replace.
The future is not AI or human navigation. It is finding the right way to combine both.
