“Cancer care is not complete without psychosocial support.
The launch of World Psycho-Oncology Day marks an important step toward recognising the emotional and psychological realities patients face alongside cancer treatment.
But awareness alone is not enough. Psycho-oncology has transformed how we understand patient care, yet access to psychosocial support remains unequal and under-resourced worldwide.
The challenge now is not proving its value, but ensuring every patient can access it.
Quality of life must stand alongside survival as a core measure of cancer care.
