As Professor Atanas G. Atanasov explains, “Folk remedies often feel safer or ‘natural’ in a healthcare system where trust is low.”
While some folk remedies may offer comfort or even placebo benefits, the harsh truth remains: most are ineffective at best, dangerous at worst. But what can the oncology community do to change this?
