Celebrating 6 Resilient Cancer Survivors and the Care Teams Who Stood by Them – City of Hope

City of Hope shared a post on LinkedIn:

“On January 1, six resilient cancer survivors will ride on City of Hope’s Rose Parade float, ‘Overcoming Cancer and Diabetes Together,’ alongside the doctors who helped guide them through their journeys – from Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, Atlanta, and Phoenix.

From rebuilding life around a lifelong passion while living with a rare blood cancer, to a grandmother thriving insulin-free after a groundbreaking diabetes transplant, and a father of five given a second chance thanks to his son’s stem cells, each of our riders has a powerful story.

Their journeys reflect this year’s Rose Parade theme, ‘The Magic in Teamwork,’ showing what happens when patients, families, clinicians, and researchers unite to overcome cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Meet Joey, Jodi, Rudy, Tyler, Angela, and Arash, and join us in celebrating their courage and the care teams who stood by them every step of the way.

Read their stories.”
