“IARC Director Dr Elisabete Weiderpass was in Canada this week to strengthen collaborations with our colleagues at the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research and to deliver two seminars to those interested in cancer prevention.
In Toronto, Dr Weiderpass presented information on the global cancer burden, as well as IARC’s evolving research and related work on prevention strategies. A second lecture, in Ottawa, focused on impact; how to turn research into action to achieve IARC’s mission of Cancer Prevention worldwide.
