Cancer Institute NSW shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last Friday, the Cancer Institute NSW was proud to welcome more than 40 of the state’s emerging leaders in cancer research to the 2026 Fellows’ Forum.
Our annual Fellows’ Forum brings early and mid-career cancer researchers together to connect with esteemed leaders in the field, share knowledge, and build networks with peers.
This year’s theme ‘Building Successful Teams & Defining Success in Research Careers‘, sparked thoughtful discussions on leadership, collaboration, and investment in research.
Professor Tracey O’Brien, AM opened the Forum, sharing insights into the critical role of research in improving outcomes for people affected by cancer. Attendees also heard from Professor Noushin Nasiri, alongside panelists Associate Professor Liz Caldon, Associate Professor James Lynam, Dr Nicola Straiton PhD, MSc, RN, BSc, and Associate Professor James Wilmott.
The day concluded with an interactive workshop on Becoming a Research Leader, led by Emeritus Professor Janet Verbyla from Research Coaching Australia.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful Fellows’ Forum.
