NSW Aboriginal Cancer Strategy 2025–2027 Demonstrated in Action – Cancer Institute NSW

Cancer Institute NSW shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Members of the Institute’s Building 715 Community Campaign Working Group were proud to join the mob on Kamilaroi Country in Tamworth for the NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Football Knockout Carnival 2025.

The annual Knockout is more than a sporting event – it’s a celebration of culture, connection, and community pride.

Being on Country offered an opportunity to yarn, listen, and share messages about the importance of staying healthy through the 715 Health Check.

Our team also spoke with the community about the Aboriginal Skin Cancer Prevention Project, with mob sharing what messages, imagery, and approaches they’d like to see to help keep sun safe.

The NSW Aboriginal Cancer Strategy 2025-2027 was demonstrated in action by engaging community mentors to walk alongside our staff. This strengthened trust, created space for cultural learning, and showcased the intergenerational connections that keep our communities strong.

By listening to and amplifying Aboriginal voices, we continue to ensure community is at the centre of everything we do.”
