Grants-in-Aid 2026 Expression of Interest Now Open – Cancer Council Victoria

Cancer Council’s Grants-in-Aid fund high quality research focused on discovering and improving prevention, detection, treatment, and care for people affected by cancer.

Expression of Interest are now open and close 19/05/2026 5:00 PM AEST

Who should apply:

We invite submissions from the full spectrum of Victorian cancer research activity including psychosocial, palliative care, allied health, epidemiology, health economics, behavioural and clinical research to consider applying. Applications are encouraged from clinical and laboratory-based researchers.

Available funding:

In 2026, the Victorian Government, acting through the Department of Health, is contributing to this year’s funding round.

Up to 12 grants will be available in the following categories:

  • 6 general grants (max. $120,000 p.a. for two or three years)
  • 1 mesothelioma grant (max. $120,000 p.a. for two or three years)
  • 1 non Hodgkin’s lymphoma grant (max. $120,000 p.a. for two or three years)
  • 4 clinical trial research grants (two- or three-year proposals, no p.a. funding cap):
    • Priority area: Disability and mental health
    • Priority area: Rare and less common cancers
