Zero Abandonment from Start to Finish – CANCaRe Africa

“Zero Abandonment from Start to Finish’ – Together we are stronger.

A childhood cancer diagnosis affects families in many ways, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, where resources are often limited. Families not only face the emotional toll of the disease but also significant financial and social challenges that can make it difficult to complete treatment for their children.

Through the Zero Abandonment from Start to Finish Program, CANCaRe Africa and its funders have been supporting families by covering essential out-of-pocket costs, ensuring that children are able to stay on treatment until completion. This practical support reduces the risk of treatment abandonment.

Beyond immediate support, the program also generates valuable local evidence on strategies that are most effective in the region, aimed at successful implementation of effective interventions to reduce treatment abandonment and increase survival.”
