Camille Chakiba-Brugère: Oncogeriatric Research and Exchange with Leading Global Experts

Camille Chakiba-Brugère, president of GERICO at Unicancer, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“As an inspiring week in Florida comes to an end, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to take part in the SIOG Research Masterclass.

This intensive and enriching experience provided valuable insights into oncogeriatric research and the chance to exchange with leading international experts in the field Grant Williams, Melissa Kah Poh Loh, Sandi Vonnes Charline Jean.

It was also a unique opportunity to further develop the In-patient project, focused on patient involvement in research — an area where there is still so much to build and improve.

Beyond the scientific learning, this week was marked by meaningful encounters with remarkable individuals who share the same commitment to advancing patient-centered care.

I would like to sincerely thank Institut Bergonié Nicolas Penel Celine Etchetto Soubeyran Pierre, SoFOG Elisabeth Carola boulahssass rabia, and Unicancer Beata Juzyna Muriel Dahan for making this experience possible.

Special thanks to Capucine Baldini and Martine Extermann for the outstanding organization and visit of Moffitt Cancer Center
And a very special thank you to Beverly Canin Patient advocate/ research partner, co-chair Cancer and Aging Research Group (CARG) scoreboard, whose insightful exchanges led me to reflect and reconsider how we design research for older adults.

As head of GERICO-Unicancer and membre of DIALOG looking forward to continuing this work and turning these discussions into impactful actions.”
